Trek Madone SLR 9 our Trek Project One customer journey
At The Edge Cycleworks we recently had the pleasure of helping one of our valued customers choose a dream bike build, a state of the art Trek Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 7 Project One. This bike represents the pinnacle of current road bike technology but is also absolutely beautiful to look at with the added option of allowing customers to choose from a huge palette of custom colours and designs. It goes without saying we were delighted to be part of the process of making this customer’s dream bike a reality.
The Madone SLR 9 AXS Gen 7 Project One is perhaps one of the most futuristic looking bikes on the market. However, Trek have produced a bike with so much technical depth to complement the visual design it’s hard not to be completely in awe of the bike.
Boasting the stiff and lightweight 800 Series OCLV Carbon frame with IsoFlow technology that increases the comfort whilst maximising aerodynamics, this bike was specified with the ultimate level of componentry, including a SRAM Red eTap AXS drivetrain, Bontrager Aeolus RSL 51 wheels and integrated OCLV Carbon stem and handlebars.
Project One offers a host of customisable options from sizing and specification, to a huge range of colour options. This particular bike was finished in a stunning Red Smoke to Red Carbon Smoke fade, that has a depth of finish rarely seen on a bike.
Sizing and fitting are an essential part of the Project One process and this Madone SLR 9 was no exception. Time was taken to discuss riding style, goals, and preferences to help initially select the perfect bike for the rider. Once we had identified the Madone as the correct model for this rider’s needs, on this occasion we performed a full precision fit before ordering the bike. As a result, we were able to not only identify the correct stack and reach for the rider but also optimise crank length, saddle height and bar width, ensuring that the riders was as fast, comfortable and efficient as possible.
